John 8:12
Darkness can be unsettling. It hides dangers, causes uncertainty, and makes it difficult to know which way to go. Yet even the smallest light changes everything. A single light can guide our steps and give us confidence to move forward.
Jesus used this picture to describe Himself when He said, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." — John 8:12
Before we trusted Christ, we walked in spiritual darkness. We were separated from God and unable to find our own way. But when we received Christ as our Savior, He brought us into His marvelous light. He continues to guide us through His Word, giving wisdom for every step of life.
Jesus also gave His followers a responsibility: "Ye are the light of the world... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." — Matthew 5:14-16
A night light is not meant to draw attention to itself. Its purpose is to help others see where they need to go. In the same way, our lives should point people to Jesus. Through our words, actions, and love for others, we reflect His light in a world that desperately needs hope.
As you look at this "Night Light Hinoki Cypress", remember that Christ is the Light who guides every believer. As you follow Him, may your life also shine so that others are led to the Savior.
Take a Moment: Are you walking in Christ's light each day? Ask the Lord to help your life shine in such a way that others will see Him through you and glorify your Father in heaven.
